After running several simulations, you can see how you start winning more games than the dealer.  There will be a stat that you will notice will be in your favor and that is the winning percentage when the true count is positive.  This is important but you will also have more chances at winning double downs, splits, and blackjacks, so it is not the only stat you need to worry about.

 What I think is important to pay attention to here is that in order to succeed in the game of Blackjack, you must know when to double down and split as well as when to hit and stand.  

After using the tools online to simulate, learn the basic strategy and card counting, make sure to head to the store to get shufflers, table mats, a shoe, several card decks, and practice at home with your friends.  You will need to train you eyes to practice under realistic settings.  You will have dealers taking to you, waitresses bringing you drinks and the speed of the game may be something you need getting used to.
